The Lake District National Park– Ullswater is just 19 miles away, it is the UK’s 2nd longest lake with spectacular walks, and water activities. The Ullswater Way is a 20-mile route with boat & bus stopping points so you can walk sections or all the way. Other favourites waters include Windermere, Buttermere, Grasmere and Rydal Water. Favourite Fells: The mighty Helvellyn, Scafell Pike, Skiddaw and Cat Bells

Pennines & Yorkshire Dales – The Pennine Way is a popular National Trail – you can walk up and around High Cup Nick and Murton Fell from our doorstep. The Yorkshire Dales is less than 20 minutes and the traditional market towns of Kirkby Stephen and Hawes (and Wensleydale Creamery) are close by too. Whether it is a quiet wander to Flakebridge Wood or a more taxing fell walk, there’s something for all.
