‘Appleby-in-Westmorland’ is an area of outstanding natural beauty nestled deep within the Eden Valley. From countryside walks and plenty of wildlife to see to the historic town itself with shops, bars and restaurants. We guarantee there is plenty to do and see whilst you enjoy your peaceful stay here.

Explore Appleby – our historical market town is just a couple minutes drive where you will find a castle, lovely river walks and a swimming pool. There are 2 small supermarkets, takeaways, butchers, bakers and cafes as well as some great local shops. The railway station is on the Carlisle to Settle line – famous for steam trains, why not take a day trip to Kirkby Stephen or Skipton.

The Lake District National Park– Ullswater is just 19 miles away, it is the UK’s 2nd longest lake with spectacular walks, and water activities. The Ullswater Way is a 20-mile route with boat & bus stopping points so you can walk sections or all the way. Other favourites waters include Windermere, Buttermere, Grasmere and Rydal Water. Favourite Fells: The mighty Helvellyn, Scafell Pike, Skiddaw and Cat Bells

Pennines & Yorkshire Dales – The Pennine Way is a popular National Trail – you can walk up and around High Cup Nick and Murton Fell from our doorstep. The Yorkshire Dales is less than 20 minutes and the traditional market towns of Kirkby Stephen and Hawes (and Wensleydale Creamery) are close by too. Whether it is a quiet wander to Flakebridge Wood or a more taxing fell walk, there’s something for all.

Close by: The Golf Club is across the field, there’s a SPA and fine dining 2 minutes away. Hop in the car to explore the Eden Valley to discover museums and castles, ice cream farms, chocolate and fudge shops. Stop for Afternoon Tea, or be adventurous on bikes, go horse riding or just stay ‘at home’, relaxing on your decking enjoying the wildlife.
